    Points for moderating Credits

if, like me, you are a moderator for credits (not the discussion boards) then there should be a points system for it. it should be based on how much work is involved in moderating the submission.

Maybe a good way would be to give the moderator 10% of the points awarded to the user Smile. This would certainly make me happy.

Articles are especialy dificult to moderate as you need to search the web for similar titles and corelate dates.

    Re: Points for moderating Credits

While I'm certainly not one to turn down an opportunity for points, I have mixed feelings about this one. I too moderate point submissions and have for quite some time now, but have always thought of it as a way to give back to the community since I was able to witness a pretty explosive growth with just a handful (I think at the time, 2 or 3) people moderating all those points. So I asked David about the process, volunteered to help and was shown the ropes and have quietly been going about it here and there since then.

Perhaps a measure of rewards might be something as simple as another badge in the forums, or perhaps a set amount of points rather than having it go based on how many submissions you approve. Just my thoughts as a fellow moderator! :)

Although I do like the idea of rewarding folks that moderate submissions, I would have to think of the best way to do so.  Perhaps we can call yours the commission based system. Big Smile  I would modify your suggestion from a percentage based system to one based on the number of submission processed as well as the type of submissions.  As you pointed out, processing articles is very time consuming because of the cross-checking that is required.  I think that a badge would be a nice touch so that it is more publicly known that you are doing all of this work.  Maybe a combination of the two even.
    Kindest regards,
